On this page I will communicate with you the work we are doing in English classes this year. As it is my first time at creating a wiki, I hope it will work as well as I think. Along the way I will be learning with you all on using this type of technology. Having the main idea of what you will be learning in the classroom on this wiki will help in a number of ways including: parents/carers able to view what is happening, if you miss a class due to sickness etc you will be able to read on the wiki what the class completed and worked on.
Week 1
Getting to know each other (Game)
Overview of what the class will be doing this term including:
Writing (yes you will still need to write at times even though you have a netbook) (hopefully if things work out we will have 2 days each week focusing on writing or writing skills etc.)
spelling each week
reading (this will include listening and independent(by your self) reading) again hopefully if things work out we will have 3 days each week focusing on reading and skills associated with reading
netbooks (I will be looking to you to help me learn what you already know about netbooks)
tests (not too many but you will still be required to do some)
group and individual work
visitors in our classroom at times (to look at the way you are learning and to help you in your learning)
diaries you will all be required to bring one to class)
homework
